Description
In the 1816 timeline, we follow a young Mary Shelley at Lake Geneva as she begins writing Frankenstein amidst the intellectual sparks of Percy Shelley and Lord Byron. In the present day (a “Brexit Britain” landscape), we meet Ry Shelley, a transgender doctor who falls in love with Victor Stein, a celebrated professor pushing the limits of AI and cryogenics. Meanwhile, a madcap entrepreneur named Ron Lord is making a fortune with a new generation of sexbots. The two stories mirror each other, asking: What happens to the soul when the body becomes optional?
