Set against the rugged backdrop of 1940s Colorado, this Sunday Times bestseller follows seventeen-year-old Victoria Nash, the only female member of a family of troubled men. Her life changes forever after a chance encounter with Wilson Moon, a displaced young drifter. When tragedy strikes, Victoria must flee into the wilderness, discovering her own resilience as the Gunnison River threatens to submerge her homeland. It is a lyrical story of “becoming” and the enduring power of the natural world.
