Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, explores the dual-edged sword of AI and synthetic biology. He argues that while these technologies offer immense prosperity, they pose a fundamental threat to global stability and the nation-state. The book focuses on the “containment problem”—the urgent challenge of maintaining human control over powerful, fast-proliferating tools that could lead to either total surveillance or societal collapse.
