Dave Spencer studied languages at Oxford University, before training to become a Secondary School teacher. He then moved to Spain where he has been living and teaching ever since. He continues to teach teenage students every day in a school near Madrid. Dave began writing courses for Macmillan in 1994. His latest series is the 2nd Edition of Gateway, a highly successful multi-level course designed to prepare teenage students for exams and life after school. Dave has given talks to teachers in over twenty countries. Anna Cole studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge before training as a TEFL teacher. She spent the summer on the Costa Brava as a child, so it was a natural step to move to Barcelona - where she had been living ever since. Anna has worked as a teacher at the British Council, Barcelona and, after completing her RSA/UCLES DELTA diploma, she started working as the Director of Languages at Merit. Anna began writing materials for Macmillan in 1996 - Brilliant, Imagine, Definitions, United. She first worked with Dave Spencer on the Macmillan Secondary Course and was thrilled to be asked to write the Gateway Teacher's books for A2, B1, B1+ and B2 levels. Anna is currently adapting these Teacher's books for the Middle East. She hopes you enjoy using the series as much as she has enjoyed working on it!
