Description
This is a meta, troperific “portal fantasy” that serves as a love letter to anyone who has ever rooted for the antagonist. The story follows Rae, a young woman facing a terminal cancer diagnosis who is given a magical bargain: enter the world of her favorite high-fantasy book series, Time of Iron, to retrieve a magical “Plot MacGuffin” that will save her life in the real world.
The catch? Rae doesn’t wake up as the hero. She wakes up as Lady Rahela, the “evil stepsister” and villainess who is scheduled to be executed the very next morning.
