Description

After a tragic journey that leaves them orphaned, the three children arrive in Thatcher’s Britain as refugees. The story spans decades, tracing their struggle to adapt to a cold, often unwelcoming new country while carrying the weight of survivor’s guilt and the ghosts of their lost family.

The book is unique for its structure: the main narrative is interwoven with the perspective of their lost younger brother, Dao (a “wandering soul”), as well as historical documents and notes from a modern-day researcher trying to piece their family history together.
